Dog Roundworms and Their Treatment
One of the most common infections of dogs are from intestinal parasites, and one of the most form of these are roundworms. There are two types of roundworms commonly found in dogs, Toxacara canis and Toxascaris leonine.
These little worms live in the stomach and intestine and can grow up to 7 inches long, and the females can lay up to 200,000 eggs every day!
There are four different ways that dogs could become infected with these type of worms. They could be become infected in utero, through nursing their mother, eating eggs found in the soil, or by eating some type of pest that is infected with roundworms.
Older dogs are usually immune to roundworm infections which is why we normally only worry about puppies becoming infected. Almost all veterinarians will deworm puppies during the first several months of life.
In young puppies have a heavy infestation of roundworms some possible clinical signs you might see are that they have a very dull coat and a potbellied appearance.
In severe cases the puppy could even become an anemic and have stunted growth. Other signs include abdominal pain and groaning.
The most common treatment that veterinarians give for this condition is pyrantel pamoate. This is a very safe dewormer and actually works against roundworms and hookworms as well.
One of the best ways to prevent this infection in puppies is to make sure that their mother is properly dewormed before she becomes pregnant, and then again right before she starts to nurse puppies.

you could also try- having the food 10 feet away food on the gruond or in a dish is lame, and food you have is 100 times tastier, get the eye contact, then move closer and closer as you succeed. Then make the food the dog has to leave more and more interesting as the dog succeeds
