Because you confined her to a knneel for 3 months, she may not understand that being inside the house is okay. Continue to work with her on desensitization, rewarding good behavior with treats (positive-reinforcement training). You can never trust a dog off-lead. Even trained dogs who behaved well off-leash for years have been known to take off due to various causes (loud noises, stray animals, strangers, etc). In addition, there may be leash laws in your jurisdiction that prohibit off-leash dogs when not confined in a fenced area. Not sure how you adopted a dog if she came from a breeder. If a breeder charged you for a dog, it was a purchase. Perhaps I misunderstood and she came from a shelter after being abandoned by a breeder.
